There’s a lot of individual ones, but as a general rule - there are ways to play the game very efficiently, which makes certain mechanics obsolete. Leveling this will take you a very long time, but is worth it. Once your combat gbs are leveled and you can fight in GE4 / gbg, you can start looking at getting an Arc. This constant doubling of goods means that an initial 10-50 SAAB goods will be tens of thousands of iron age goods once you’ve filtered it down that far. With a decent guild you can buy (or be given) a small amount of SAAB goods. Aging up will make GE and combat harder, so the advantages it brings are not worth it while you’re still struggling with GE/combat. This will free up tons of population as you won’t need many (or any) conventional barracks anymore. Similarly, getting a rogue den + Alcatraz (level 15-20ish) will be a game changer when you can do it.

Getting the trio (Zeus, Aachen, CdM) to 10 asap is a big deal because it’ll help you participate in a diamond guild’s gbg, which is the fastest way to gain fps for a new player (and also for older players.) It’ll also help you fight through GE4 eventually, saving you tons of goods.
